The recent revelation of secret surveillance programs being conducted by agencies of the US government on cell phone and internet networks have once again shocked the country. The government tells us that they are doing this to protect us from the bad guys and that they are only interested in the communications of foreign nationals. President Obama said that this was, to paraphrase, a compromise between security and privacy and that becuase of these efforts terrorist plots have been thwarted. What terrorist plots? We dont know. Why? Because they are secret. Join Ken and Beth as they discuss the issue of government secrecy. How does it affect our daily lives?
