Patricia interviews Judy Duenow, PCC, CPCC about coaching the writer. Your life is the story you write yourself. We are creating the stories of our lives daily with the choices we make, the attitudes we adopt and the perspectives we hold. Writers and their work are intimately intertwined. This is a conversation about coaching writers in the work they create and about the creative lives they live. Today there are coaches and speakers with important messages to share. To do this effectively, many coaches want to write books in order to reach larger audiences, to have take-away products to sell after presentations or get their word out in book stores and/or e-books. On this show we will also discuss how working with a writing coach can shine a light on more direct paths toward writers' dreams. Judy Baer, MA, PCC, CPCC, is the author of more than 80 books including two non-fiction books. Baer has twenty five years experience in the publishing industry and twelve years in the coaching profession. In addition, she has written features for Woman's Day, Guideposts' Faith and Stuff, various regional papers and magazines, taught community education classes in both writing and coaching and done public speaking. She is adjunct faculty of St. Mary's University, an advisor in the master's program for MA's in human development. Baer, before turning to women's fiction, wrote forty-five books for teens and children. To date she has written for publishers including Harlequin, Bantam, Ballentine, and Guideposts book division. Her coaching training includes certification as a CPCC (Certified Professional Co-Active Coach) through the Coaches Training Institute, FOL (Foundations of Learning) through the Newfield Network, PCC (Professional Certified Coach), and most recently, training and certification from LeaderBreakthru.
